Cary Jam on hold

I'm going to put the Cary Jam on hold for now. That month where the Durham and Cary jams were on consecutive nights (not planned or expected) certainly didn't help much. If anyone out there is interested in helping to organize and publicize, I should be able to provide the space. Just contact me.

No Cary Uke Jam on the 22nd, or the day after the Durham Jam

Having the Durham and Cary uke jams on consecutive days (when a month has 5 Tuesdays) has not really worked out, especially while trying to build attendance.
I always intended the Cary event to complement the Durham Jam, not compete with it. This is also why I scheduled for Tuesday, so that people that can't come on Mondays would have a Tuesday opportunity.

So, no Cary jam on the 22nd (next week), or in the month of November. I'll reevaluate in 2012.

Next Cary jam on March 8 (the day after the Durham jam)

I'm planning to have the next Cary jam on the 8th. As with last week, this is the DAY after the Durham jam. The next time that the 2nd Tuesday is the day after the 1st Monday is in November. Hope to see folks on Tuesday. RSVPs are appreciated.

No changes in February, March, November schedules

Feedback indicates I should leave the dates as they are (2nd and 4th Tuesdays). We will be playing in Cary on the 8th and 22nd. These are the DAY after Durham (not the next week)

This calendar surprise affects all dates in February, March and November.

For those that came Jan 25th, the music you brought is now in binders, so we now have 5 songbooks to play from. See you next Tuesday.

Dilemma : Durham and Cary Jams on consecutive days in Feb, Mar, Nov

This is weird. In February, March and November, the first and third Mondays are followed immediately by the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays. Which means the Cary jam is the day after Durham.

I don't mind leaving it like this, but perhaps I should shift forward by a week.

Ideas?

New uke!

Saw an Ivy Flea :

for a good price on Craigslist just before Christmas and snagged it. What a lovely instrument. Nice tone, plays well. Took it with me on Christmas vacation, and realized how nice it is to travel with an instrument.

Potential weather problems for 11th get together

Looks like the weather may not agree with having our jam on Tuesday....though if anyone lives close by and wants to come over,  I won't turn you away. Please use your best judgement.

I live 10 houses away (closer to Walnut street), so we may end up playing at my house instead. The town of Cary is pretty good at getting the roads cleared quickly. Just call me at 919-345-4591 and let me know you are coming. If I don't hear from anyone, I'll assume it's off. Better luck for the 25th.
